Three months to go

I have not been updating my blog during the summer while I am in Columbus. Nevertheless, it seems like my life revolves around working up data from last season or preparing for next season. I'm making shopping lists, trying to get in shape, lining up a house sitter, etc. Today I went for my pre-deployment physical, which is the first step in getting PQ'ed for the ice. Every year we have to get a complete physical to make sure we don't have any medical or dental conditions that would be difficult to manage or treat in Antarctica. So far so good, but I have a few more things to do before I will be considered Physically Qualified. I have about three months in the northern hemisphere before I head south again. For inspiration, here is one of my favorite pictures from Antarctica that I took on a walk to Castle Rock.
